UCSF Central Utilities Plant Emergency Diesel Generators

Central Plants

We offer design and consulting services related to all aspects of facility central plants. Cogeneration, emergency power systems, steam/heat, chilled water, power distribution, and distributed control systems are within our realm of expertise. We provide services ranging from planning assistance and design review to complete design of plant electrical systems.

Pictured is a portion of the emergency power supply system of the UCSF Central Utilities Plant. We provided planning and design review services for this $45 million project. This project included 6.0 megawatts of emergency/standby power generation, 13.25 megawatts of gas turbine and steam turbine cogeneration, 12KV electric service and distribution for the entire campus, 4KV and 480 volt distribution within the plant, and an extensive distributed control system / supervisory control and data acquisition system. We have recently completed the complete electrical design for Phase 1 of a 6000 ton chilled water system to be installed in the plant.
